FASHION ➳ LIFESTYLE ➳ PHOTOSET
The best part of shooting new images is pulling together inspiration that has depth and emotion. Bram and I knew we wanted to shoot something different than the usual SoCal beach backdrop, but we needed to find a ‘why’ to back up the theme and setting of something new. I have always been drawn towards a western style and the feeling I get when I find a dirt road or open meadow always makes me feel closer to home. My roots are from a small town where *home* is memories of a place where we raised chickens, had a big garden and a pasture of horses. As I grew up my dad worked hard and mom even harder raising 4 babies and manifesting a life worth living. We spent most hours outside doing chores, playing in the pine tree forests that engulfed our 12 acres and finding fishing holes, sledding hills and riding snowmobiles or dirtbikes. I had been waiting to wear the jewelry, belt and blouses I got to use in the shoot as they are from my mom’s closet while I grew up. I channeled her free spirit and the way she always had a love for the wild west during this afternoon dream. I hold my childhood memories more dearly as the days go on and hope to raise my kids the same way I spent my younger years.
